Calanais Standing Stones
Callanish was one of our first stops, a bucket list location for sure. Thankfully, with a mixture of the freezing cold rain and wind, we were not pestered by the thousands of tourists that flock to the area in the summer. This is somewhere I’d love to visit again and again.

Glen Meavaig
The walk to the eagle observatory was filled with spectacular views reminiscent of Glen Coe, one of my favourite places back on the mainland.
Despite being soaked through and not having any luck spotting eagles we had a great walk through the glen.

RSPB Loch Druidibeg
We visited the RSPB reserve at Loch Druidibeg multiple times during our stay. Although fortunate to see an array of wildlife including hen harriers, sea eagles and an otter, the real charm were the ponies who welcomed us on every visit.
The combination of golden evening light and jaw dropping views made for quite the experience.
